How does a code do that?

Aright, so I got lv.7 figured, but I’m confused about the source code. How does it know what txt file to use without it even being mentioned in the code? I’m sort of a beginner at Javascript, so I’m still learning. I guess the answer may be a spoiler (as on how to crack the code) so feel free to PM me.

PHP is a programming language that is hidden on the server. You can only see JS because it is “client-side” code. Therefore, the login can use a txt file you cannot see in the code on the client side.

Pay special attention to the second half of that hint!
